Cold Spring Harbor SeafarersThe Cold Spring Harbor Seafarers Club was founded in 1966 by the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department. In 1972 the organization management was transfered to a group of local residents and continues to serve the Cold Spring Harbor area of North Shore Long Island. The club offers a broad range of boating activities including, recreational fishing, pleasure cruising, competitive fishing and instructional and social events for both fisherman and recreational boaters. In addition, the Club promotes and supports safe seamanship and small boat handling among its members. The Club engages in a "good neighbor" policy with area residents and promotes community events and support activities that benefit the local community. The Club also works with local governments in the development of environmental policies for the preservation and protection of the natural surroundings.
