Greater Huntington Boating Council Donates Maritime Life Rings to Town Docks

The Greater Huntington Boating Council is proud to announce the donation of ten brand-new maritime life rings to be installed at Town Docks throughout Huntington. This safety-focused initiative was made possible through proceeds raised during the Council’s Safe Boating Week – Waterfront Festival.

The event, which brought together families, boaters, and local organizations in celebration of boating safety and waterfront enjoyment, raised significant community support. The funds are now being directly reinvested in improving water safety infrastructure across the town’s popular public docks.

Don Tesoriero, Commodore of the Greater Huntington Boating Council, said, “We’re thrilled to give back to our community in a way that promotes awareness and readiness in emergency situations, these life rings are an essential tool that can help save lives, and we’re grateful to all who attended the festival and made this donation possible.”

The new life rings will be installed in key areas along the waterfront, ensuring they are easily accessible in case of emergencies. This effort is part of the Council’s ongoing mission to promote safe, responsible boating and waterfront recreation in the Huntington area.
