Greater Huntington Boating Council Donates
New Maritime Stretcher & Flotation Kit to Department of Maritime Services
The Greater Huntington Boating Council is proud to announce the donation of a brand-new Stainless Steel Maritime Stretcher and Flotation Kit to the Department of Maritime Services. This critical safety enhancement was made possible through funds raised during the Council’s Safe Boating Week – Waterfront Festival.
The festival brought together families, boaters, and local organizations for a day of waterfront celebration and boating safety awareness. Thanks to the strong community support, the proceeds are now being reinvested directly into improving water safety infrastructure across Huntington’s popular waterfront.
“We’re thrilled to give back to our community in a way that enhances safety and preparedness on the water,” said Don Tesoriero, Commodore of the Greater Huntington Boating Council. “This Stretcher and Flotation Kit are vital tools that can help save lives, and we’re deeply grateful to everyone who attended the festival and made this donation possible.”
The addition of the new equipment ensures the Department of Maritime Services is better equipped to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations. This initiative reflects the Council’s ongoing mission to promote safe, responsible boating and enjoyable waterfront recreation throughout the Huntington area.
